Eye Makeup Tutorial

Another Eye Makeup Tutorial!

After all those hauls, I thought it was time for something a bit different, so I did an eye look! It's very dark and fall-appropriate, so I figured that fall was a perfect time to share it! This uses shadows from just the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 palette.

Apply the 11th shade from the left to your crease, blending it out super well. This will make the look more smokey and sultry.

Apply the 12th shade from the left to your entire lid. Blend it into the crease shade to avoid any harsh lines.

Apply the 3rd shade from the left to your inner corner to add some extra sparkle, making sure to blend it into the other shades.

Add winged eyeliner, curl your lashes, and add a few coats of black mascara to complete the look. I chose to do a thick wing to add some more drama, but a thin wing would look nice as well. I think this look would go nicely with a dark red vampy lip.

Another Haul

Another Dollar Tree Haul!

My final haul from my shopping spree is a Dollar Tree haul! I got lots of cool-looking stuff this time around, and I can't wait to try it all out.

First off, I got these White Rain body wash and lotions. I like my foot cream and body wash from the last Dollar Tree haul, so I decided to get some more stuff from White Rain.

Next I picked up yet another lip balm - and it's not the last one! It's a berry blue flavored one from Jelly Belly. It looked fun so I grabbed it.

After that I got some L.A. Colors Color Balms. I got three because I wanted to review them and compare them to Baby Lips.

Next I found some fun-flavored lip balms - chocolate milkshake, bacon, and strawberry cheesecake! I doubt I'll use the bacon one, as I'm vegetarian and don't like bacon, but look at the smiling bacon on it! Too cute to pass up.

Next I got a raspberry creme ChapStick. I don't actually have any ChapStick yet, so I figured this would be a good place to start.

After that I got a Colormates lipstick in Ruby Red. It comes with an invisible lipliner, which I think is an interesting concept. It's a darker red, and I don't have many of those, so I figured it would be worth a try.

Next I spotted this Lip Smackers birthday cake lip gloss. I've heard good things about the cake batter lip balm from ChapStick, so I wanted to try this to see if it was any good.

I got these two Wet' n' Wild eyeshadow brushes because I don't have enough eyeshadow brushes. You can never have enough, really.

Next I purchased a couple pairs of lashes. I've used the Wet' n' Wild ones before and I loved them, so I got some more. I've never tried the Colormates ones, so I wanted to test them out.

After that I got some skincare stuff I've heard good things about. I'm hoping the makeup remover wipes won't break me out because my skin is already being a little odd - I rarely get breakouts, but I've been having more than usual lately. I've heard that the facial brush is great for exfoliating, so I grabbed one to try it out for myself with my normal acne wash.

The thing I'm most excited about is these Essie nail stickers. I've tried some out now and I like them, so I picked up some more that I didn't have yet.

Lastly, I got this nail polish duo. The bottom color is a lot lighter in real life than it is in the picture - it's really more of a pearl color. Both of the colors looked nice so I got it.

Another Mini Haul

Mini Claire's and Michael's Haul

This little haul will include some jewelry, as well as makeup! I love Claire's but I think it can be a bit overpriced so I don't go there very often, but I needed some jewelry for my Halloween costume, and I heard that they have some cute lip balms. I also went to Michael's and managed to find a makeup related item!

First I got this pretty choker set as an option for my Halloween costume, and for everyday wear if I feel like it. I'm not huge on chokers but I do think they're cute sometimes. It cost $9.50 USD.

Next I got this pretty long necklace and matching earring set for $14.50 USD as another option for my Halloween costume.

After that I bought some mustache and tophat earrings. They're regularly $6.50 but I got them for $3.25 USD. I love the mustache trend so I had to get them.

Lastly from Claire's, I got these lip balms for $3.50 USD each. A bit expensive, but I've never seen these flavors before and I was intrigued. I can't wait to try them out!

Finally, from Michael's, I got two packs of face wipes for $1.50 USD each. They say on the back that they're meant for the face, so I'm hoping that they remove makeup too.

Mini Haul

Bath and Bodyworks Mini Haul

I recently went shopping and got a ton of stuff - a bit too much for one haul. So I'm splitting it based on where I got the stuff from, and first up is Bath and Bodyworks! I only got a few things since Bath and Bodyworks is kind of expensive, but I know I'll love everything I got.

First, I got the Suncrisp Apple Harvest shower gel and body lotion. I got them in a little gift set together for $15.00 USD, and although you can purchase them both separately, it's only a few dollars more to get both together in the set than it is to get one of these on their own. They smell just like apples. I'm gonna smell like a candy apple!

Next up I got this Crisp Morning Air hand cream for $5.00 USD. It smells really nice and it claims to be nourishing, which would be great because my hands have been dry lately.

Lastly, I got the Paris Amour golden sugar scrub. It smells lovely and I've used it before, so I know that I'll love it. It was $16.50 USD. This will be my third bottle of it.

Iconic 3 Review

Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette Review

I recently purchased the Iconic 3 palette from Ulta, and I've been really loving it, so I wanted to give it a review. It costs seven dollars USD and you can purchase it off of Ulta.

Here is the palette itself. The shadows are great quality for the price, super smooth and pretty pigmented. There is very little fallout, as well.

Here are all twelve shades and the applicator it comes with. I've used every single shade and I love them all.

Here they are swatched on my arm. All of them went on this pigmented with just one swatch except for the lightest shades, but that's normal. I also have very fair skin, so I imagine they'd show up better on a darker skin color. My favorite is the sixth one up, which is a very nice shimmery golden shade that I use on the lid. I pair it with the seventh shade up in my crease and sometimes I'll use one of the lighter shimmery shades in the inner corner. When you do that and add winged liner, it looks great! This palette is totally worth the money and I would highly recommend it to a friend.

September Favorites

September 2015 Favorites

It's October now, so that means it's time for a monthly favorites! I plan on doing this every month. I have quite a few this month, so let's get to it!

My first favorites are two of the Wet' n' Wild MegaLast lipsticks in the colors Just Peachy and Bare It All. I love them because they're long lasting and very pretty. They are a bit drying, but I don't mind.

This is a lip balm that I got from ShopMissA, and it's super hydrating and moisturizing. I use it almost daily to help heal my chapped lips, and it works really well.

I use this Nivea lip butter (as well as the one in Raspberry Rose Kiss) to moisturize my lips over night. It leaves my lips really smooth when I wake up in the morning, in good condition to wear a more drying lipstick.

This is the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Shine-Free primer. I use it every day and it makes my foundation last a couple hours longer. It's by far the best primer I've ever tried!

Next up is this black Essence gel eyeliner. I use it with an angled eyeliner brush to get a perfect wing. It doesn't smudge throughout the day, and it comes off super easily.

Next we have the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 palette. I loooove this! All the colors are super pretty and quite pigmented. My favorite shade is the golden one, which I pack onto my lid for a shimmery look.

This is a pretty Milani nail polish I got at the dollar store in the shade Canyon Country. I've used it a couple times and although it chips pretty easily, it looks very nice. I think it's a good fall color.

Moving on to the face, I've been loving these e.l.f. Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths. They remove makeup super well, even if it's waterproof. And at three dollars for 20, they're pretty cheap, too! I recommend storing them upside-down so that the top cloth is more moist when you use it.

After taking off my makeup, I use this Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Daily Face Wash to get off any excess and get more down into my pores. It claims to diminish acne within 12 hours of use, and it really does! I also use it once or twice a week with a loofah in the shower to exfoliate my face. It even works to prevent future breakouts.

Now for the body! This is the Philosophy "Unconditional Love" shower gel. The scent is pleasant, and it reminds me somewhat of cotton candy. I love this stuff and use it on my arms every time I shower to make them smell nice and also use a loofah with it so they'll be smoother.

Lastly, we have a couple of hair products. These are the L'Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy shampoo and conditioner. I have colored hair, and this really does help keep it vibrant for longer. The shampoo is almost gone and the conditioner is about halfway done. I plan to try new shampoo when this one is done, but it was fantastic!

Eye Makeup Tutorial

Eye Makeup Tutorial Using Only One Palette!

I recently bought the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Redemption Eyeshadow Palette, and I wanted to do a tutorial using it because its gorgeous. I think it's supposed to be a dupe for the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay. So, here you are!

Apply the 7th shade from the left to your crease, making sure to blend it out well.

Apply the 6th shade from the left to your lid, blending it into the crease color.

Apply the second shade from the left to your inner corner, being sure to blend it into the lid and crease colors well.

Using the Gel Liner by Essence in the shade 01 Midnight In Paris, make a wing. I used an angled brush to do this.

Curl your upper lashes and apply Covergirl's Super Sizer mascara to your upper and lower lashes, and you're done! I didn't use a lipstick with this look, but you might try a classic red - I think it would look nice with this eye look. If you're not comfortable with something as bold as a red, try a pinky nude or coral instead.
