Eye Makeup Tutorial

Makeup Revolution Iconic 1 Palette Tutorial

This tutorial uses shadows from only one palette - the Makeup Revolution Iconic 1 palette. I absolutely love the Iconic 3, so I bought the Iconic 1 and 2 as well.

Apply the 5th shade from the left to your crease. I made it extend out a little bit to guide where I would put the winged eyeliner later.

Apply the 6th shade from the left to your entire lid. I used a slightly damp brush to get a more intense look.

Apply the 2nd shade from the left to your inner corner for an extra pop of shimmer.

Put on eyeliner, curl your lashes, apply mascara, and you're done! I paired this look with a nude lip (NYX Butter lipstick in Pops) and a more natural face. It would look good on a flawless face or with bold red lips as well.

Iconic 3 Review

Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette Review

I recently purchased the Iconic 3 palette from Ulta, and I've been really loving it, so I wanted to give it a review. It costs seven dollars USD and you can purchase it off of Ulta.

Here is the palette itself. The shadows are great quality for the price, super smooth and pretty pigmented. There is very little fallout, as well.

Here are all twelve shades and the applicator it comes with. I've used every single shade and I love them all.

Here they are swatched on my arm. All of them went on this pigmented with just one swatch except for the lightest shades, but that's normal. I also have very fair skin, so I imagine they'd show up better on a darker skin color. My favorite is the sixth one up, which is a very nice shimmery golden shade that I use on the lid. I pair it with the seventh shade up in my crease and sometimes I'll use one of the lighter shimmery shades in the inner corner. When you do that and add winged liner, it looks great! This palette is totally worth the money and I would highly recommend it to a friend.

Eye Makeup Tutorial

Eye Makeup Tutorial Using Only One Palette!

I recently bought the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Redemption Eyeshadow Palette, and I wanted to do a tutorial using it because its gorgeous. I think it's supposed to be a dupe for the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay. So, here you are!

Apply the 7th shade from the left to your crease, making sure to blend it out well.

Apply the 6th shade from the left to your lid, blending it into the crease color.

Apply the second shade from the left to your inner corner, being sure to blend it into the lid and crease colors well.

Using the Gel Liner by Essence in the shade 01 Midnight In Paris, make a wing. I used an angled brush to do this.

Curl your upper lashes and apply Covergirl's Super Sizer mascara to your upper and lower lashes, and you're done! I didn't use a lipstick with this look, but you might try a classic red - I think it would look nice with this eye look. If you're not comfortable with something as bold as a red, try a pinky nude or coral instead.

Matte Palette First Impression

Makeup Revolution Redemption Eyeshadow Palette Essential Mattes First Impression

In my recent Ulta haul, you may have seen a couple of palettes. I've decided to do a first impression on this one, as well as some swatches. You can buy the palette here for $7.00 USD.

Here is the palette. It comes with 12 pretty shades, all matte. The texture is smooth and a bit buttery, although there are some "crumbs" that come off when you rub your finger in the shadows. For seven bucks, the quality is better than I expected, but we'll have to wait and see about their lasting power.

Here are six of the shades...

...and here are the other six. Most of them show up this pigmented with one swatch, but I went over some of the lighter shades twice so they'd show up better on camera. They have medium to high pigmentation, depending on the shade. The darker shades show up more pigmented, which I find to be pretty normal. I'm excited about trying out the blue-grey shade, as I don't own anything like it at the moment. I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of the lighter shades, but even if I only use half of the colors, this palette will still be worth the money to me.

Haul!

Ulta Haul

I recently bought some makeup from Ulta and I wanted to do a haul for my blog, so here it is! I don't plan on buying new makeup anytime soon, so this will probably be the last haul for a while. I may do a no-buy, so I'll post about it if that happens. I got my order in two shipments, which was funny because I got two items - a lipstick and a single eyeshadow - in a box that was way too big for jus those things. Now, on to the haul!

Here are the samples I got. Since I got my order in two shipments, I got some extra samples. I also got a few perfume samples, but I didn't include them as they're just the kind where you sniff the paper. I'm glad I got the primer samples as I've wanted to try both of those primers, and I'm very excited about the big shampoo sample! I've never gotten a sample this big before, and I certainly didn't expect it. I'm running out of my current shampoo so it will be good to have a new one to try out.

Since I purchased $10.00 USD worth of Essence products, I got a free Essence Lash Princess mascara, usually $4.99 USD. I don't really need any more mascara right now but it's good to have an extra around for when I run out.

I got these foundations buy one get one half off, and they were the main reason I made the order. I'm running out of my current one of these so I wanted a backup, and then I took advantage of the buy one get one half off deal. I'm in the shade 110 Porcelain and they regularly cost $7.99 USD.

The Urban Decay Primer Potion was on sale for $10.00 USD (normally it's twenty) and I've been wanting to try it out for a while, so I decided to get it. I've heard so many good things about it that I've been tempted to get it many times, but I'm glad I waited until it was on sale, because I saved some money.

Next I got this Essence Gel Eyeliner, which costs $3.99 USD. I got it in the shade 01 Midnight In Paris, which as far as I can tell is the only shade. Somehow, I didn't own a black gel eyeliner, so I decided that it was time to finally get one.

After that, I got an Essence 3D Eyeshadow in the color Irresistible First Love. It costs $3.49 USD. I can't wait to try it out, especially the pink shade. I don't have a pigmented light pink in my collection so if this is any good, it'll be a good addition.

I also got two Revlon ColorStay ShadowLinks in the colors Copper and Gold. I don't have a copper or a gold eyeshadow, so I wanted to get some. The cool part is that they link together, so you can make your own custom palette with them! I may buy more in the future if I end up liking them. They cost $2.99 USD each normally, but they were also buy one get one half off.

Next I got the Iconic 3 Redemption palette from Makeup Revolution. It costs $7.00 USD, and it is GORGEOUS. I think it's supposed to be a dupe of the Naked 3 palette, but I don't own that one so I can't compare them. All of the shades look like something I would totally wear and I can't wait to try it out.

I also purchased the Essential Mattes Redemption palette from Makeup Revolutions. It costs $7.00 as well. I bought it because I feel like I need more matte eyeshadows, and all of these shadows are matte.

Lastly, I bought an Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Coral Calling. It costs $2.99 USD. I noticed that despite having far too many lipsticks for one person, I didn't have a single coral lipstick, and this one looked pretty, so I got it. I'm excited about trying it out!
