Project Pan Roulette

Ongoing Project Pan Roulette: 32 Items!

If you aren't familiar with Project Pan Roulette, it's like a normal project pan, except instead of choosing whatever items you want, you draw categories out of a hat (or, in my case, a bucket) and choose items that fit into those categories. I have a total of 32 categories to choose from, and I will be working on 7 items at a time. As soon as I finish one item, I will draw a new category and pick a new item until I'm out of categories. I got most of my ideas for categories here and came up with some myself. I'm not setting any sort of time limits as I don't feel like stressing over makeup right now. I just want to get a feel for how long it takes me to use up or hit pan on certain products. Most of the categories are makeup, but there are a few bodycare categories in there as well.

These are the first seven categories I chose at random - a full size product, an eyeshadow I've already hit pan on, a nail polish, a recent purchase, a hand cream, a product under $5.00, and a bright lip product.

For my full size product, I chose my Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch foundation because it's nice and light feeling which is great for the spring and summer while still providing good coverage. It's also a tiny bit dark for me, so I'm hoping it'll match me better as I get tanner during the warmer months. I also think that it's getting to be at least 6 or 7 months old at this point so it would be good to use it up.

I've already hit pan on the shade Salted Caramel in the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and I really like it, so I figured it would be one of the easiest shadows for me to use up. I like to use it as a crease/transition shade.

As for my nail polish, I chose Essie's Bikini So Teeny because I think it's the perfect spring and summer shade, plus I've already made some progress on it so it will be a bit easier. It has tiny microshimmer that I only noticed recently and that makes me love it even more.

For my recent purchase, I chose the LA Colors Contour Stick in Highlighter. There's not actually a ton of product so it shouldn't take too long. It's a very pretty shade that I think looks nice on my skin.

When I got this hand cream in my April Boxycharm, I knew I wasn't going to use it up unless I put an effort in because although I like it, I'm just not a hand cream person. Hopefully this project will drive me to use it a lot more.

Not only is this product under five dollars, it's only one dollar if you get it from ShopMissA! This is the LA Colors 5-Color Metallic Mauves palette in Wine & Roses, and it's really pretty. I have yet to use t on my eyes but the shadows are gorgeous swatched so I can't wait to start using them.

Last but not least is a bright lip product. I chose a mini of the Urban Decay High Color Lipgloss in Anarchy. I think hot pink is very summery and even though it's still spring I've decided to ignore that and pretend it's summer. This gloss is really pigmented, so I plan to wear it alone most of the time.

Products I Want To Use Up Update

Products I Want To Use Up In 2016 Update Four

I decided to get rid of the body butter and lip gloss categories entirely for the year because I haven't used products in those categories at all and I know I won't be using anything up in those categories. I have been sick this month as well as very bust so I haven't made very good progress, but I think I'll do better in May.

Lipstick

I've barely used my MAC lipstick in Brave at all this month, but I think I'll get good use out of it next month. I think that using it up this year is still very doable.

Foundation

I'll admit that I've barely touched this foundation in April. I discovered the Revlon Colorstay and I love that so much that I didn't want to use anything else, but I'll make an effort to use this more in May.

Powder

I finished a powder! My goal is two powders this year and this one is my first, so I'm halfway there. I even took out the sifter so that I could use every single bit of product because I really liked this powder.

Eyeliner

I've decided to focus on a mini eyeliner so that I actually have a chance to use it up. I got this mini Marc Jacobs liner as part of my Sephora birthday gift this year and I have so many black eyeliners that I don't need another mini one cluttering my collection.

Nail Polish

The nail polish is nearly gone! I think that one or two more uses and it'll be done.

Lip Butter

I totally finished my Nivea lip butter! Since I had reached my lip balm goal, I used this instead of lip balm, so it went pretty fast. I still have another one in a different scent, but I won't be rushing to use it.

Lip Scrub

I'm nearly done with the lip scrub! I already have backups because I've grown to really enjoy this product and it's only  a dollar on ShopMissA. I predict that this will be done within the next month.

Eyeshadow

Because I hit pan on both of the shadows that I set goals on last month, I'm going to take a break from panning shadows this month and just use whatever I want. I have some new palettes and I want to play around with those before I commit to using anything up.

Project Ten Pan Update #1

Project Ten Pan: Lip Balms Update #1

For this update, I'll only be featuring products I used up a significant amount of. Also, I won't be updating my other project pans until next week because I have yet to make significant progress on any of the items in them.

I used up a lip balm! This balm was fantastic, very smooth and moisturizing, and it was only a dollar! I totally plan to re-purchase it when this project is done. I rolled it up all the way for this picture, and as you can tell, you can't see any of it above the tube. When I finish up a few more lip balms, I may dig out the rest that is still in the little plastic bit that holds the lip balm and use it up entirely. However, for the purposes of this project, I will consider it finished.

This is the lip balm I keep in my bag for use throughout the day. I've used up about a quarter of it, but part of that is because the top got messed up and I had to cut a small amount off so it would be useable again.

Here is the watermelon Starburst LipSmacker I've been using compared to a mostly unused starwberry Starburst LipSmacker. As you can see, I've used up a fair bit this past week.

Here is my medicated tangerine EOS compared to an unused EOS. I didn't use that much this week, but I did use it a fair amount.

I've used up a ton of this Nivea lip butter! This should be finished within about a month. I use this at night before bed and whenever I feel like my lips really need some extra moisture.

Project Pan

Project Pan ROULETTE!

I've seen some YouTubers doing this variation of a project pan, and I thought it looked fun, so I decided to do it too. Because I'm just doing it for fun and not to get rid of products, I will be allowed to buy new products during this project pan, and I have no time limit. The concept is you put a bunch of restrictions for one specific item in a bowl and pick out ten. For example, if I picked out "a haircare item" then one item would have to be a haircare item. If the next restriction was "a foundation" then the next item I picked would have to be a foundation. I'll pick a new product restriction and a product to go with it whenever I finish a product. The project will be done sometime after I finish at least ten products, either when I get bored or I have picked every restriction. Without further ado, let's get started!

These are my restrictions! The only one I'm unhappy with is "a product you dislike," the rest should be pretty easy, especially since I'm allowing myself to pick out deluxe sized samples and products I've already started using.

I've recently been making my own lip scrubs, but I decided to use up a store bought one for this. There's still quite a lot of product left, but I use it frequently so it shouldn't be difficult.

I only have three or four mascaras, and this one is the most volumizing, so I chose it. It's from ModelCo and I got it as a gift from a family member. It's probably getting close to expiring, so I want to use it up before that happens.

After I use up the nude lip gloss in my Finish Five by February, I'll start on this one. I won't be using it right away, so it'll probably be a couple of weeks before I make any progress on this.

This has been sitting in my collection for a long time now, and I want to use some of it up. My goal for this product is just to use about half of it. That was I won't get sick of it and hate it forever.

This foundation is okay, but I prefer other ones, so I'd like to finish this one up. It's a tiny bit light for me, but it's still useable.

I use this eyebrow pencil daily anyways, so it shouldn't be difficult to use up. I'm in the shade blonde.

I only have two loose powders, and I wanted to try this one out more, so I chose it over the other one. It's brand new, but I still want to finish it entirely.

The reason I dislike this eyeshadow duo is because the colors just don't look that good on me, at least not the pink. Also, the pink barely shows up on my skin color. I just want to ht pan on both shades, not use them all up.

For my drugstore item, I chose a brand new lipstick. This is in the shade Mauve Outta Here. I just want to use enough that the top doesn't stick out when it's rolled all the way down.

For my skincare item, I chose my daily face wash. I use this in the shower and after I take off my makeup, but I'm going to try and use it every single day.

Project Ten Pan

Project Ten Pan: Lip Balms

I've been really enjoying other people's project pans lately, and I have far too many lip balms, so I decided to do my own project pan with my lip balms! The rules are that I can't buy any more lip balms until I use all of these ones up, and I've "hit pan" when I can no longer use the product without scraping it out. The only product I've used a noticeable amount of is the EOS, which I've used maybe a third of. I use lip balm every day and before I go to bed every night, so this shouldn't be too difficult. I'll do my best to do an update once a week.

My first product is a new favorite of mine, and it only costs a dollar! It's the BeautyTreats Bunny Balm. It's really moisturizing, so I like it a lot. If you want to try it, got to ShopMissA! This will probably be the first thing I use up.

This is my YuBe lip balm from Sephora. I used to really like it, but since then I've found better lip balms that are also cheaper, so I've stopped using it regularly. I want to be done with it.

I love the scent of this! It's a raspberry creme ChapStick. It's pretty moisturizing, and I keep it on me while I'm out and about to use as a daytime balm.

My fourth item is this L.A. Colors color balm. I included this because not only do I like it, it's tinted, so I can use it on days when I want red lips as well as whenever I feel like using it, so it'll be easier to use up.

Fifth is this Electro Baby Lips in Oh! Orange. It's also tinted, so I'll use it on days when I want an orange lip, as well as at home in the evening.

I really want to use up these three Starburst LipSmackers in watermelon, cherry, and strawberry. I got them together in a pack on sale at WalMart because I thought they would be fun to have, but I'm already over them. I just want them out of my collection, but I don't want to waste them.

My overnight balm/butter is the Nivea lip butter in caramel cream kiss. This is great for moisturizing and it's totally saved my lips from getting destroyed from the cold.

Lastly, I have a medicated tangerine EOS. This is a nice balm for the evening because it's not so thick you want to just wear it overnight but not so thin that it does nothing.

Finish Five

Finish Five by February: Mini Lippies!

I have another project pan! This time, I can purchase new lipsticks while I'm using these ones up, but I have to finish all of them by the 1st of February 2016. I've made it easier for myself by including glosses that can go over the lipsticks, and all of the products are deluxe sized samples rather than full sized products. I've included nudes for everyday and reds because that's a nice holiday color.

First up is this little Too Faced lipstick in Naked Dolly. It's a nice nude color that doesn't wash me out, so I look forward to using it.

Next is a Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Speak Your Mind. It's slightly nude but mostly pink and it also doesn't wash me out.

This product is a Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Color in Red Amour. It's just a nice, simple red that will be nice around the holidays.

I have another Laura Mercier lippie, a Lip Glace in Blush. I think it'll look good over the two nude lipsticks I included.

Lastly, I'm going to try to use up this Hourglass lipgloss in Icon by using it over the red lipstick.
